Meriwether VINE Limits and Confirmation
VINELink depends on participating-agency feeds. An event can lag, a record can be incomplete, or a person can move into a system not represented by the selected result. No result is not proof of release, and a release alert is not proof that all legal custody ended.

A VINE status change answers a narrow question: what the participating agency feed currently reports. It does not explain whether release occurred on bond, after a sentence, by parole, following dismissal, or through a transfer. That explanation remains in jail, GDC, Parole Board, or court records.
When an alert arrives, note the time, agency, record ID, and exact status. Then call or search the correct official source. If the agency says the person transferred, ask for the receiving agency rather than describing the event as community release. If GDC now controls the person, switch to the active-offender search.
The distinction also protects against stale data. A person may leave one facility but remain in legal custody elsewhere. Only the receiving or releasing agency can verify the complete chain.
VINE Is Not a Meriwether Registry
